| Site Preparation A level site is required to set your building on. |
|
| Buildings can be set on a pad of 2B stones, approximately 4" to 5"
deep. It is recommended that you have 12" of stone around the perimeter of building,
to keep weeds down, and keep moisture away from building. Never pile soil or mulch
against the siding on your building. To install stone you can either dig out 4" of
soil and install stone ground level, or you can make a frame with 4 x 4s or
landscape timbers, then fill flush to top with stone.
Small buildings 10 x 12 and under may be set on concrete blocks, blocks should not extend out of the ground more than 6", it is recommended to use 2" or 4" blocks, so you will not have as high a step into the shed. Blocks can also be dug into ground just above ground level. Your building may also be set on a concrete pad. If you are installing a concrete pad, keep your pad as close to ground level as possible. Proper care of your building will add many years to its lifespan. Never set anything against the outside of your building for a long period of time. This will hold moisture and cause rotting to your siding. Your building should be painted every 6 to 8 years. When planting shrubs or flowers, keep them back far enough to allow proper air circulation. It is the buyer's responsibility to make access to the site for unloading the structure. Make sure all necessary trees are trimmed or cut before delivery, so we do not damage the structure installing it. Buyer is responsible to remove fences, and all obstacles that will hinder access to the site. If we are crossing neighboring properties, buyer is responsible to gain permission before delivery. We are entering your yard at your request. We are not responsible for property damage. If your yard is too wet for delivery, we must be notified before delivery.
|
|
| After your building is delivered, and you start storing in your
building, it may settle on your stone or block, etc., it may not settle the same
all the way around. You can tell by looking at the trim on the top of each door,
they should be lined up, this can be remedied simply by putting shims under the
4 x 4 runners at the places show below, a hydraulic floor jack will work for this.
The drawing to the right shows doors that are misaligned, and how to remedy the problem. You may also pick up on the opposite rear corner, this will have the same effect. If the doors on your building misalign opposite the drawing, simply jack up on the opposite corners.
